Bail won’t be reduced for Warren man charged with rape

The bail for a man who police say confessed to rape will not be reduced.

Kameron M.J. Osborne, 22, of Warren, is charged with rape – forcible compulsion; sexual assault; aggravated indecent assault; indecent assault; and endangering the welfare of children.

According to police, Osborne raped a woman he knows in February.

Warren County Assistant Public Defender Mike Kitay asked the court to consider a bail reduction in Osborne’s case, while explaining that he understood “the nature of the charges are very serious.”

“He does have strong ties to the community,” Kitay said. “If you would reduce his bail, he would be living with a family friend.”

“Reducing the bail for Kameron Osborne would be a huge mistake by the court. The victim and the children… would be in danger,” District Attorney Rob Greene said. “I think $75,000, if anything, is low.”

Greene said the victim told police Osborne threatened her children in order to gain her compliance.

“‘He grabbed me and said, if I don’t stop, ‘I’m going to hurt (the child),'” Greene said.

The victim told police Osborne then called the child, who was close by and said, “Come here. Whatever happens is mommy’s fault,” according to Greene. The victim then stopped resisting.

“This is an extremely solid case,” he said.

Warren County President Judge Maureen Skerda denied the motion to modify bail.
