Warren man faces rape charges

A Warren County man has been charged with rape.

Thomas E. Rader III, 36, of Warren State Hospital, faces charges including rape – forcible compulsion; involuntary deviate sexual intercourse – forcible compulsion; aggravated indecent assault – without consent; and indecent assault – forcible compulsion.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, a female victim reported to police that she and Rader were engaged in consensual kissing and touching on Sunday when Rader started doing things she was uncomfortable with. She asked him to stop, according to the affidavit, but he did not. He removed his pants and she tried to push him away, but could not, according to the affidavit. She told police that Rader told her, “You’re going to get raped,” according to the affidavit. She “related the defendant then pushed her against the wall and placed his hand over her mouth and began to have intercourse with her,” police said.

Rader was arraigned Monday before District Justice Laura Bauer, who set unsecured bail at $50,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 28.
