Police are looking for two brothers suspected of armed robbery Tuesday night at Kwik Fill in Sugar Grove, where they worked.

Charges have been filed against Joshua P. Jacoby, 20, and Aaron M. Jacoby, 19, both of Sugar Grove.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Aaron Jacoby is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; robbery — threat of immediate bodily injury; and robbery — take property by force; and Joshua Jacoby faces those charges plus a charge of theft by unlawful taking.

Police said the brothers are suspected to be in Chautauqua or Erie counties in New York. Police believe they were driving a white Chevy Equinox.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the brothers went to Kwik Fill at about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday wearing hoods and masks.

“It should be noted that J. and A. Jacoby were both employed at the Sugar Grove Kwik Fill,” police said.

“Once inside, J. Jacoby pointed a knife at (an employee) and jumped over the counter,” according to the affidavit. He then pushed the employee into a corner, causing the employee to fall, then held a knife against this throat and “asked him if he wanted to die.”

After the employee pushed the knife away from his throat, Jacoby went to the safe, according to police.

Aaron Jacoby pushed a different employee into the same corner, according to police. “A. Jacoby also asked (that employee) if he wanted to die.”

Police said Aaron Jacoby went to the cash register. “It appeared that A. Jacoby was attempting to enter his employee cash register number to open the cash register,” according to the affidavit. That didn’t work, but police said he knew how to get other employee’s numbers, and gained access to the register.

One of the employees called 911 during the robbery, police said, but Joshua Jacoby noticed, took the phone, and threw it.

Police said the brothers left the store on foot, heading northwest.
