Drug Task Force is making progress

Efforts by local police and the Warren County Drug Task Force have resulted in a number of recent arrests for possession with intent to deliver.

Dustin E. Jordan, 38, of Youngsville, was taken to Warren County jail after being charged on Jan. 3.

According to Youngsville Borough Police, Jordan “has been selling methamphetamines from his residence and in the Borough of Youngsville.”

Police said Jordan sold .3 grams of meth to a confidential information at his home in October. According to the affidavit, two children were present at the time of the alleged sale.

Jordan and the confidential informant made further arrangements for the purchase of methamphetamine, according to the affidavit.

A second buy inside a Youngsville business took place on Oct. 17, according to the affidavit. Jordan sold 7.6 grams of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, according to police.

Jordan was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver; two counts of criminal use of a communications facility; and two counts of endangering the welfare of children.

He was arraigned by District Justice Todd Woodin on Jan. 3, and taken to Warren County jail after failing to post $40,000 bail. He was released after posting bail the following day.

Kellen P. Taydus, 37, of Youngsville, was taken to jail after being charged on Jan. 4.

According to Youngsville Borough Police, Taydus “has been selling illegal controlled substances” from his home near Youngsville Elementary School.

According to police, Taydus sold 3.1 grams of cocaine and 6.5 grams of cocaine on separate occasions to a confidential informant in October in arrangements set up by cell phone.

Taydus was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver; and two counts of criminal use of a communications facility.

He was taken to Warren County jail after failing to post $100,000 bail.

John W. Soderberg, 44, of Warren, was charged and taken to Warren County jail on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

According to City of Warren Police, police — acting covertly — and Soderberg arranged an exchange of 1 gram of meth to take place at a Warren business.

Police said they saw the defendant walk into the parking lot of the business and took him into custody.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Soderberg was searched. “The defendant was found to be in possession of two black plastic bags, with each containing one clear plastic baggie containing a white substance. The defendant was also in possession of a… toy pistol… the orange tip… indicating that it was a toy, had been removed. The defendant also had a kitchen knife in the sleeve of his jacket.”

Soderberg was arraigned on those charges Wednesday before District Justice Ray Zydonik and was taken to jail after failing to post $25,000 bail.

He was also arraigned Wednesday on unrelated charges of receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking.

According to City of Warren Police, a downtown business owner reported that items with a total value of about $650 were taken from in front of his store on Nov. 19. Other business owners told him that they had been approached by Soderberg about them buying items that matched those stolen, police said.

Bail was set at $5,000.
