Corry man on drug charges following Sugar Grove sting

A Corry man has been charged with possession with intent to deliver following a controlled buy in Sugar Grove.

Samuel A. Walton, 47, of Corry, is charged with possession with intent to deliver; five counts of criminal use of a communication facility; possession of a controlled substance; five counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a small amount of marijuana; and operating a vehicle without ignition interlock.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Samuel arranged a sale of methamphetamine for 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, in Sugar Grove, to a confidential informant working with the Warren County Drug Task Force.

“It was arranged and confirmed… for the sale of approximately seven grams of methamphetamine,” according to the affidavit. The purchase price was to be $250.

The informant allegedly met with Walton, made the exchange, and left with a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, according to task force agents.

After the alleged exchange, agents stopped Walton and placed him under arrest, according to the affidavit.

K-9 Dina of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office alerted for narcotics in the vehicle, according to the affidavit. A search of the vehicle allegedly turned up various items of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

“Detective… read Walton his Miranda warnings…,” according to the affidavit. “Walton waived. Walton admitted to the sale of methamphetamine to CI and the trafficking of methamphetamine.”

Walton was arraigned Sunday before District Justice Laura Bauer and taken to Warren County jail after failing to post $10,000 bail.
