Two defendants pled guilty while charges were withdrawn against two others during preliminary hearings held on Wednesday at the Warren County Courthouse.

The following defendants entered guilty pleas:

¯ Jeremy L. Paden, Pittsfield, to two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Two counts each of possession with intent to deliver and criminal use of a communications facility were withdrawn.

¯ Daniel J. Vargas, Smethport, to theft by deception – false impression. A count of trademark counterfeiting – distributes was withdrawn.

Charges were withdrawn against the following:

¯ Cody J. Britton, Dunkirk, NY. Britton had been charged with simple assault. A count of harassment was re-categorized as a non-traffic offense.

¯ Casey L. Gibson, Youngsville. Gibson had been charged with simple assault and harassment.
