Halloween signals the time of year when things are about to get hairy for the City of Warren Police Department.

The department’s officers have been given special dispensation by their chief to participate in No-Shave November.

All officers are participating and will not be shaving their faces for a full month. “All 14 officers, including our female officer, are participating,” Detective Tony Chimenti said.

“The chief was very generous is allowing us to do this for the month of November,” Chimenti said.

The police participate as a union and donate the $30 collected from each officer to the Warren County Children’s Advocacy Center.

“We’re donating the money to the CAC,” Chimenti said. “We want to make sure it continues to be funded. Every little bit helps.”

He asked that anyone looking to make a donation to the CAC do so directly. The CAC may be reached at (814) 313-1004, 110A E. St. Clair St., Warren, or by email at director@warrencac.org.
