It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Warren County Historical Society.

Since 1999, the Warren Garden Club has helped prepare the historical society for the holidays — in particular the Christmas Open House.

“The Warren Garden Club has received several awards from the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania for the decoration of the society’s historic building,” Maryanne Fernstrom said. “The first and second floors are adorned with four Christmas trees, along with traditional holiday decorations including outdoor wreaths and garland on the wrought-iron fencing at the front of the property.”

Club members decorated the main parlor, the office, the stair railing, the upstairs parlor, the store, and the second-floor hallway.

According to club President Pat Christy, this year’s decorating committee co-chairs were Fernstrom, Bev Tipton, and Josie Gerardi.

The Victorian Christmas Open House with music, refreshments, and popcorn-stringing will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, in conjunction with the annual Christmas Walk and Parade. The education-themed Christmas trolley tours — Around the Coal Stove — will run that evening from 7 to 8:30. Tickets for the trolley tour are available at the historical society.
