No injuries reported in Youngsville mobile home fire

At 7 p.m. Wednesday evening, Youngsville, Garland and Starbrick fire departments responded to a fire at a mobile home on Robertson Drive in Youngsville.

Youngsville Fire Chief Vern Edmisten was first on the scene followed by Officer Ben Leach of the Youngsville Police Department. They had received word that there was an individual inside the structure and according to Edmisten was “sound asleep.”

Together with Officer Leach they “kicked the back door in,” and moved the individual to safety.

Upon breaching the door, Officer Leach proceeded to direct traffic while Youngsville, Garland and Starbrick V.F.D.’s extinguished the blaze within 25 minutes of the first alarm.

As of press time, the cause of the fire is still undetermined, according to Edmisten.
