City seeks volunteers

The City of Warren, like many municipalities, relies on resident volunteers in a number of capacities.

Those who serve on the blighted property review committee, redevelopment authority, parks and recreation commission, street landscape committee, planning commission, joint UCC appeals board, property maintenance appeals board, and zoning hearing board assist in the decision-making processes of the city.

“Numerous City of Warren residents pledge their time and talents to serve on the board, commissions, and committees of the city,” Executive Secretary Teena Leary said. “These individuals bring a wealth of knowledge to the table and provide invaluable insight to the administration and city council.”

At the moment, the city could use a few more volunteers.

There are vacancies on the parks and recreation commission (four-year term), the redevelopment authority (five-year term), and the zoning hearing board (four-year term).

“Interested City of Warren residents are invited to apply for consideration for appointment,” Leary said. “Applications are available online at www.cityofwarrenpa.gov/volapp and should be submitted to the City of Warren at 318 W. Third Ave. or by email to admin@cityofwarrenpa.gov by Feb. 6.”
