A luncheon at the Forester Restaurant, casual gathering at the Brokenstraw Valley Winery, bonfire, breakfast at Richards’ Restaurant, and dinner/dance are all part of the weekend. Details about dates, times, dance costs, and contact info for each event can be found on the Youngsville Public Library’s Community News page at www.YoungsvilleLibrary.org. Hometown Heroes Banners Round 3

Applications/Photo Release Forms for round three of the Youngsville Hometown Heroes Banner Project are being accepted now to Jan. 15, 2019.

The deadline date is firm (no extensions or exceptions). Any branch of service, past or present, home or abroad, wartime or peace time, is eligible.

Round two of the Hometown Heroes Banner Project was completed with the dedication on Memorial Day 2018. Round one plus round two banners make a total of 42 banners displayed on the streets of Youngsville. One of the most interesting things derived from the project has been the stories collected about the honorees. Now, the committee is working on round three scheduled to be installed for Memorial Day 2019.

If you have a Hometown Hero that you would like to honor, now is the time to get the forms completed and submitted, especially if you would like to give it as a Christmas gift. What better gift could you give to a service person “who has everything” and is hard to buy for? We have a special gift card to present to your honoree revealing the gift that shows your love and appreciation of their service.

One page is an overview of the project. One page is the photo release form, and the third page need only be filled out if you want to help sponsor another Hero who has no one left to sponsor or they can’t afford it.

All three pages can be downloaded and printed from the Youngsville Public Library’s Community-News web page at www.YoungsvilleLibrary.org. Hard copies of all of all three pages are also available at the Youngsville Public Library and Youngsville Borough Building during business hours. Call 563-4286 for questions.

The committee and the printer have a lot of work to do to get the photos and information ready for the banners’ creation. Proofs will be provided to you for your approval. All of that takes time, so don’t delay. This could be the last round.
