After the morning session the Bishop Cynthia Moore-Koikoi left to return to Pittsburgh to leave on a Mission Trip to Haiti. Sheffield and Barnes parishes hosted the event.

Warren County Christian School Kindergarten Visitation

Warren County Christian School will be having Kindergarten visitation on Friday, February 17th. If you have a child who will be starting kindergarten this fall please bring them to the school for an interactive visit from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Parents and children are also invited to an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Information about enrollment and tuition will be available during both afternoon and evening events. Shrove Tuesday Pancake and Sausage Dinner

Shrove Tuesday Pancake and Sausage Dinner will be held at Youngsville First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. to help fund camperships for their children and youth. Cost: Donation. We hope you will attend for this worthy cause.

Love Inc. Happenings

This year’s Leap for Love is still pouring in blessings of love! Many, many thanks to the brave souls who participated by jumping into the Brokenstraw to raise funds for those in need-Leap, but more has come in donations now is $1,948. Thank you to everyone who has support Love Inc. and the Mission to help give a hand -up and not just a hand-out. You still may donate to Love Inc. Love INC of the Brokenstraw Valley starting a Prayer and Worship Time

Alice Pedersen, Executive Director, of Love INC is setting time apart for those who would like to join a Prayer and Worship Time. The time of the event will be noon to 1 p.m. On the following dates: February 8, February 22, March 8 and March 22. Youngsville Borough information

Youngsville Borough information Offices & Services will be closed on Monday, February 20th in Observance of Presidents’ Day. Garbage Pickup will take Monday’s Pickup will be Tuesday, Tuesday’s Pickup will be Wednesday.

Strategic Planning Meeting

The Youngsville Borough Council will host a Strategic Planning Meeting on Thursday, Feb. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Youngsville Borough Municipal Building, 40 Railroad Street, Youngsville, PA 16371. This is the beginning of a four month process to put together a strategic plan for the Borough of Youngsville. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. You do not need to be a Borough Resident to participate. If you would like more information, please contact our office prior to February 15th.

In the case of bad weather, the make-up date will be on Tuesday, Feb. 21.

Family Medieval Dinner

A Family Medieval Dinner will be held on Sunday, February 19, at 4 p.m. at the Saron Lutheran Church. This is the 500th year celebration of Martin Luther’s Ninety-five Theses. 2017 Youngsville Lenten Services

All Services Begin at Noon – March 1-Evangelical UMC – includes imposition of ashes ; March 8- Free Methodist; March 15 – Saron Lutheran ;March 22- St. Francis Episcopal; March 29 – St. Luke’s Roman Catholic; April 5 – Otterbein UMC ; April 12 – Irvine Presbyterian. On April 14 – Good Friday Procession of the Cross beginning at noon at the Free Methodist Church then processing through town stopping for short time of prayer at each church ending with Saron Lutheran Church.

Youngsville Public Love Your Library “Raffle”

The Friends of the Youngsville Library’s 7th Annual “Love Your Library” Basket Extravaganza fundraising event is going on now through Friday, March 17. This year the six uniquely themed choices are actually filled with gift cards, cash, or lottery tickets and not traditional “basket items”. Each “basket” has a value of $100. The six “baskets” are currently on display at the library and for a $5 donation participants will receive 10 tickets to be used toward the basket(s) of their choice. Winners will be drawn at the end of business day on March 17.

If you’re not able to make it to Youngsville Library during regular business hours, you can still get tickets from Library Board members, Friends of YPL Trustees, and at a few area businesses. Friends of YPL will have tickets available at Richard’s Restaurant this Friday, February 17th from 4 pm – 7pm. Also, now through Wednesday, March 15 “Love Your Library” raffle tickets will be available at the Forester Restaurant during their business hours (Wed-Thurs. 4pm- 9pm & Fri-Sat. Noon- 10 pm).

Valley Bowling will have tickets available from Monday, Feb. 20, to Monday, Feb. 27. This particular week was chosen because Valley Bowling is also having an Adult/Junior Tournament (which is open to the public) on Saturday, February 25. Bowling times for the Adult/Jr tournament are 1 pm and 4 pm. If you have questions about Love-Your-Library tickets or are interested in signing up for the Adult/Jr tournament, contact Valley Bowling at 563-4320.

“We really can’t thank our local businesses enough for how much they support our library,” stated Library Director Kristy Wallace. “Every bit of support is truly appreciated. Carter Lumber, Forester Restaurant, Perkins, Simple Dick’s, Pete’s Beverage, Tammy’s Hairitage, Richard’s Restaurant, Tops Market, Applebee’s, Sheetz, United Refining, and Shell all provided gift cards and Scott Olewine of Olewine Financial Group in Warren sponsored the $100 bill for the ‘Cold Cash’ basket. Thanks to them we really have some great raffle items this year for people to choose from.”

The six themed choices are: “Bon Appe’tit,” “Youngsville’s Finest,” “Keep on Scratching,” Cold Cash,” “Fill ‘er up,” and “Got ‘Ya Covered.” Tickets are always available at the Youngsville Library during business hours. Ten tickets for a $5 donation or one ticket for a $1 donation. Library business hours are Monday & Tuesday. Noon-7:30 pm, Wednesday 10-5, and Friday Noon-4pm. Questions call 563-7670.

Tax forms at YPL

1040A, 1040, and 1040 EZ forms and booklets are now available, in limited quantities, at the Youngsville Public Library. PA-40 forms and envelopes are also available. YPL has not received Rent Rebate forms to date but you may call during library business hours (M & Tu Noon-7:30, W 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and F noon-4) to see if they have arrived.

Local forms should be mailed directly to you, if you have not previously filed your local taxes on-line. Libraries no longer receive blank local tax forms.

You can order federal tax forms and instruction booklets online at www.irs.gov or by phone at 1-800-829-3676. Special state forms and/or instruction booklets can be printed at www.revenue.pa.gov or you can order forms by phone at 1-888-728-2937 (1-888-PATAXES).
