Composting workshop

The Warren County Conservation District is partnering with the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners for a workshop about household composting.

Judy Kepple will discuss why it is beneficial to recycle organic waste and the effect this has on landfill space.

She will also go over the rules of composting to ensure you create a viable, healthy product that will not only nourish your garden or landscaping, but will also reduce the amount of space organic waste takes up in landfills.

Judy will review the finer points of lasagna composting. What? You’ve never heard of lasagna composting? That’s okay, neither have a lot of people.

It will be explained at the Warren County Conservation District, 4000 Conewango Ave., from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20. The workshop is free, but registration is appreciated by calling 726-1441.

Fire police meeting

Warren County Fire Police will meet at 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at Clarendon Fire Hall. There will be no breakfast just coffee and donuts. Please plan to attend.
