Hazel Joyce Holmes Beane, age 85, passed away December 9, 2016 at River Oaks Place Assisted Living Facility in Louden, TN, formerly of Endeavor, PA.  Hazel was born October 13, 1931 in Kane, Pennsylvania.  Hazel was the daughter of James Holmes & Alice Height Holmes Gerarge.  Hazel was an employee of Crator Mfg. in Tionesta until her retirement.  Hazel enjoyed playing cards, being outdoors, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, of 55 years, Rex Mitchell Beane, Sr. in 2003.  They were married May 1, 1948.  They resided in Endeavor their entire married life.  She was also preceded in death by her parents Alice & James Holmes; her stepfather Samuel Gerarge; 2 sisters, Bertha Holmes Duke, Gertrude Holmes Hayduk, 1 brother Gerald Holmes, her stepsister Carol Jean Gerarge McLaughlin & her stepbrother E. Samuel Gerarge.

Hazel is survived by her daughter Dixie Lee Miller & husband Donald of Corryton, TN and son Rex Mitchell, Jr. of DuBois, PA.  She is also survived by 6 grandchildren:  Deon Beane & wife Jennifer, Dana Beane Heckman & husband Jack, Stephany Beane Dunham & husband Jim, Samantha Beane Greeley & husband Brandon, Josie Miller Rutter and Kenneth Miller & significant other Fleda Bromley; three greatgrandchildren: Jaklyn Olivia, Miller William & Adyson Cleo Rutter; & several nieces, nephews.

A private memorial service was held at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel in Knoxville, TN.  Hazel will be laid to rest beside her husband, Rex, Sr. in the Warren Memorial Park, Warren, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
