News In Brief

Trafficking seminar

Over 200,000 children are trafficked for sex in the United States annually. They are mainly girls and are usually trafficked for the first time between the ages of 12 and 14. They are often dead within seven years from AIDS, drug overdose, murder, or suicide.

The best strategies for keeping trafficking out of a community or a family include learning about it, becoming vigilant, taking action. With this in mind, the Anti Child Trafficking ministry of the Episcopal Mission of Warren County is offering two video presentations on child trafficking in the United States. After the videos we will discuss what we have learned and consider the many ways we can fight trafficking, protect vulnerable youth and provide services to rescued victims.

Learn about trafficking and what we can do at 7 p.m. Wednesday February 17 and February 24 at Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, 444 Pa. Ave. West, Warren Pa. For more information or reservations call (814) 688-4425.
