68 new COVID cases reported in Warren County

There were 68 new cases of COVID-19 in Warren County on Thursday, the second-highest daily total yet.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health announced that there have been 956 cases in the county so far, with 778 confirmed and 178 probable. There were 52 new probable cases among the 68 new cases.

Many of the new cases seem to be in the Youngsville zip code.

There were a total of 40 new cases in Youngsville on Thursday – one confirmed and 39 probable.

Elsewhere, there were 13 new cases in the Warren zip – seven confirmed and six probable, four in Russell, two in Sheffield, and one each in Columbus and Sugar Grove.

In the last 30 days – the period after which patients who survive are considered recovered by the department – there have been more than 820 new cases in the county. In December, there have been 653.

The department announced a total of seven COVID-related deaths in the county, adding one to its previous total. More deaths are certain to be added to the list. Warren County Coroner Melissa Zydonik said Wednesday that there had been 21 COVID-related deaths in the county in December.
