An arrest warrant has been issued for a Tidioute man in connection with months of burglaries totaling approximately $115,500 in value.

Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police were alerted back in March to a reported burglary in the 200 block of Main St. in Tidioute Borough. Troopers discovered that the subject house had been burglarized between Nov. 15, 2020, and March 20, 2021.

A safe with historical documents and an antique pipe collection had been taken.

Troopers identify the suspect as Chad D. McLaughlin, 34, Tidioute and filed charges against him Tuesday with District Judge Todd Woodin’s office.

“The investigation showed that McLaughlin began to sell the victim’s belongings on eBay during July of 2020,” police allege in a statement, “and continued to burglarize the victim’s residence until early 2021.”

Police filed a total of 154 criminal charges in connection with this case, all felonies, including one count of burglary, a count of criminal trespass for breaking into a structure, 76 counts of theft and 76 counts of receiving stolen property, online court records show.

Troopers ask that anyone who may have purchased items from McLaughlin during this period – or anyone with information related to the case – to contact them at the Starbrick barracks at (814) 728-3600.

They caution that an arrest warrant has also been issued for McLaughlin and anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts should contact police.
