Warren-Jamestown Christian Women meet

The Warren-Jamestown Christian Women met Sept. 13 at Praise Fellowship Church in Russell.

Vi Birchard performed the song selections – “I Have Found My Lily in the Valley” and “From Heaven’s Point of View.”

Marian Aranyos demonstrated the Fast Step device for people who fall and/or need to call 911 in an emergency. Falls are the leading cause of elderly death.

The spiritual speaker, Kathy Joy Hoffner of Erie, spoke on “Meet Me on Normal Street… Stories of Life Mapping.”

She focused on there being no normal path on life’s map. Change is difficult to accept; we use our Bible as our road map and trust God to be with us on our life’s journey. Dead ends will lead to new roads and forgiveness.

Proverbs 3: “Seek His Will in all you do; God will show you which path to take and walk with you on your journey.”

Birchard closed with benediction and sang, “You Can Have All this World, but Give me Jesus.”

The group will hold its next luncheon — provided by the committee for a donation of $6 — meeting at noon Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Praise Fellowship Church. The spiritual guest will be Pastor Sue Ford of Cherry Creek, NY, along with her husband, David Ford providing music and singing along with her.

The group is collecting nylon or synthetic socks in October and November for service members overseas. Socks will be sent on by the Blue Star Mothers.

The October meeting will include the $1 brown bag exchange.

Reservations may be made by calling Judy Crothers at (814) 723-7613 or Nancy Schuyler at (716) 720-4410, by Oct. 9. The group always meets on the second Tuesday of the month. There are no dues or membership. Donations help Village Missions train pastors to spread God’s word to rescue rural U.S. churches with dwindling congregations from closure. Bring a friend and new guests are always welcome.
