AOC to hike

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike at the Jamestown Audubon Community Nature Center, 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown, on Sunday. The group will meet at the kiosk at 2 p.m. Linda Ross will lead the hike and can be reached at (814) 726-3920 or (814) 688-5908 with any questions.

Culture Day

Scandinavian Culture Day will begin its 23rd season of workshops at Jamestown Community College on Saturday with the first workshops set for 10 a.m. Dr. Julie Lindblom Boozer will discuss why and how Swedish immigrants left their beloved homeland to cross over the perilous Atlantic Ocean. At the turn of the 20th century, Northwest PA and Western NY had the third largest settlement of Swedes in North America. No registration is required. Culture Day is free and open to the public.
