Another search planned for missing Jamestown man

By ERIC TICHY etichy@post-journal.com JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Another search is being organized as part of ongoing efforts to locate a Chautauqua County man not seen since November. The search for 56-year-old Kevin Hornburg of Jamestown, N.Y., will begin around 10 a.m. Thursday, focusing on the 800 block of Prendergast Avenue. Those interested in taking part are asked to meet in that area. “We’re still holding positive thoughts,” said Jo Patterson of WNY Missing & Unidentified Persons, a locally based organization that helps raise awareness on missing person cases through social media, regarding Hornburg. Thursday’s search in Jamestown will be the third effort undertaken by the group this month. Hornburg was last seen Nov. 22 on Prendergast Avenue. He has a tattoo of a cross on his forearm and an unknown tattoo between his pointer finger and thumb. The Jamestown Police Department previously said tips indicated that Hornburg at one point may have traveled to the Olean, N.Y., area. The Olean Police Department has been keeping an eye out for him. As of Tuesday, there was no new information on Hornburg’s whereabouts, Jamestown police said. Earlier this month, a search included the 600 to 800 block of Prendergast Avenue as well as Stillers Alley. Hornburg’s family said he has never gone missing in the past and were worried for his well-being. They have not heard from him since he was last seen toward the end of November. Anyone with information is asked to call the Jamestown Police Department at 716-483-7537 or the anonymous tips line at 716-483-8477. Information left with the WNY Missing & Unidentified Persons group on Facebook will be forwarded to JPD.
