Akeley UM Women set pancake supper

The April meeting of the Akeley United Methodist Women was held at the church with Bette Irwin as hostess. President Eleanor Johnson opened the meeting with a devotion from Job 10:12.

The date of the annual pancake supper was set for May 22. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, eggs, applesauce, and Barrett’s real maple syrup. The price is a donation. The supper will be held at the church following guidelines set by CDC. Weather permitting seating will be available in the church basement as well as the garage.

Take-outs will be available. The money raised from this event will be used to further local mission projects. The event runs from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

A donation to the Ruth M. Smith Home was discussed. Bette Irwin made a motion to give $300 to the home. The motion was seconded by Elsie Barrett. Excluding the pledge, more than $600 was given to help local families in need.

The group continues to collect clothing to be used at Eisenhower Elementary School.

Bins are available at the back of the church for your contributions.

The meeting concluded with the serving of a dessert.
