Downed tree cuts WCSD’s internet, phone service

A downed tree cut some of Warren County School District’s internet and phone connections on Tuesday.

Phone and internet at the Eisenhower campus and the district’s central office were disrupted for about three hours, according to Elaine Bailey of WestPA.net. Service was restored before noon.

A tree fell over a fiber optic cable in the area of Jackson Run Road and Scranton Hollow and Creamery roads in Farmington Township, she said.

That tree broke the cable. “There was a fiber severance,” Bailey said. The repair was handled in-house. “We have an excellent team.”

The district has a dedicated fiber network connecting and providing service to all of its buildings.
