Kindergarten registration set

Some students had to enter school for the first time in the 2020-21 school year, complete with pandemic.

Hopefully, next year’s kindergartners will have a very different experience.

But, one way or another, it’s time for registration.

All children who turn 5 years old on or before July 1, 2021, are eligible to register.

No early admission will be permitted.

Kindergarten registration for the Warren County School District will be online in February.

“The online registration will replace the traditional in-person registration that took place in school buildings in the past,” Supervisor of Elementary Education Lynn Shultz said.

Registration will be handled through the district website — www.wcsdpa.org — under the kindergarten registration tab. There is information about registration, transportation, nursing, nutrition, Title I, and videos, available on the site.

Those who do not have suitable access to internet may call 814-723-6900 ext. 1027 to schedule an appointment in the last week of February to fill out the online registration at the central office in Russell.

“All supporting documents will need uploaded during registration or submitted to central office,” Shultz said.

Those documents include a state issued birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residency — such as a utility bill, tax bill, mortgage bill, drivers license, or state issued identification card.

Those who are unable to upload the documents may mail them to WCSD Central Office/Attention: Student Registration Office at 6820 Market Street, Russell, PA 16345, or drop off a copy to the child’s home school.
