Drake successful in contest

In the Advanced Junior division, Salenah Drake and Echo placed 3rd with the outdoor image.
Salenah Drake worked with her K9 companion, Echo, to capture this image and take first place in the Northeast Regional 4-H Photo Contest.

The Warren County 4-H program year looked much different in 2020 than ever before.

Many families and leaders found new ways to interact in the program. Salenah Drake is a member of the Sanford Saddles & Spurs club and, during a normal year, she is very active in the horse program. With the many changes that affected 2020, Salenah stayed committed to her love of animals with the help of her one-and-a-half-year-old Mastador named, Echo.

The Pennsylvania 4-H program offered a dog photo contest for members across the state to participate. Additionally, the opportunity led to compete in the Northeastern National Contest. The intention of the photo contest supported youth to stay engaged in the 4-H program. Salenah, with the support of Echo and her mom, Stephanie, took on the challenge, placing second and third in the state class Me & My Dog and first place in the state class Classic Art.

Nationally, Salenah placed first in the Classic Art Junior division with Monet. She also had success in two additional categories. In the Selfie Junior division with her black and white, Salenah placed second Lastly in the Advanced Junior division with her photo entitled, Cheese, she placed third.
