Festival Of Trees will be held Friday-Sunday

Santa’s elves have adapted to the pandemic and plan to light up the holiday season with a lot of magic in a new way this year, as Allegheny Health Network Saint Vincent and the Children’s Miracle Network present Festival of Trees.

This year’s Festival of Trees is presented by PNC Bank.

The 2020 Festival of Trees will be held both virtually and as a drive-through experience, as Saint Vincent Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network work to create a safe and magical event for the community.

The event will take place as a glittering drive-through light experience and a virtual gallery of trees.

The drive-through light experience will feature beautiful light displays, visits to rooms in Santa’s castle, live reindeer, and fun holiday takeaways.

Shimmering lights and festive surprises along the route will amaze attendees as they drive through the exhibit, uplifted by the sounds of the holiday music they love.

This holiday display will take place at the Fairview Business Park, 7401 Klier Drive, Fairview, Pa., from Friday, through Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

“A global pandemic can put a stop to many things, but it can’t dampen the spirit of the holiday season, and families that celebrate Festival every year as a holiday tradition won’t be disappointed with how we’ve adapted to present the festival in 2020,” said Christine Bowen, executive director of advancement at AHN Saint Vincent. “That said, safety is a priority for this year’s Festival of Trees. Volunteers and employees at the drive-through light experience will follow social distancing and mask guidelines and attendees will be safe in their cars.”

Admission for the drive-through light experience will cost $20 per vehicle of one-to-10 guests.

Additionally, the traditional Gallery of Trees will be taking place as a free, virtual experience.

The public can view an array of beautifully decorated trees in an online gallery and can vote for their favorite holiday tree.

Voting will take place from Friday through Sunday and the winner will be announced on Monday.

Decorators include Allburn Florist, Angelle Sundberg, Larese Floral Design, Chrissie Estok, A Floral Affair, Pamela Garfield, Girl Power, Graphitti Creations, Liz Gutting, Jerry Hoydic, Lake Life, Leah Stazer, Molly Danch, Patty McMahon, Plantscape Greenhouses and Potratz Floral Shop.

Proceeds from this year’s Festival of Trees will support the creation of a Healthy Food Center at AHN Saint Vincent Hospital.

The center aims to provide patients with access to healthy foods and nutrition counseling to help manage their overall health, no matter their income or budget.
