CCWA roars back to 1920s for ‘Speakeasy’

What’s the password to some mid-winter socializing and fun? Speakeasy.

“The Conewango Creek Watershed Association announces the Conewango Speakeasy fundraising event on Feb. 29, 2020, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Warren Moose Lodge, 422 Pennsylvania Ave West, Warren,” Jean Gomory of the Conewango Creek Watershed Association (CCWA) said. “The theme will be the Roaring 1920’s and guests are invited to dress in the style of that era.”

Tickets include dinner, entertainment, tastings, games, and door prizes, and are available at Brokenstraw Winery in Youngsville; Arrowhead Winery/Ekey’s Florist on Market St Extension, Warren; WellSpring Home and Garden Center, Saint Clair St., Warren; Conewango Creek Watershed Association Office, 4000 Conewango Ave, Warren; The Main Landing Restaurant, at Holiday Harbor Marina, Celoron, N.Y.; and the Warren Moose Lodge.

They are also available online by visiting www.conewangocreek.org and clicking through the Eventbrite link. Tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple through Sunday, Feb. 16. After that, tickets will be $30 for individual and $50 per pair. There will be additional fundraisers during the event.

Music — classic rock from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s — will be provided by Ron Carrington and the Touch of Gold.

“Wine, beer and spirits tastings are included with a ticket,” Gomory said. “The following companies have committed so far: Brokenstraw Winery, Arrowhead Winery, CJ’s Spirits Distillery, Grumpy Goat Distillery, and Trails to Ales Brewery.”
