It’s A Sugar Grove Christmas Walk

Photos submitted to Times Observer

The full moon and Friday the 13th made for a magical “It’s A Sugar Grove Christmas Walk.” Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department delivered Santa Claus to the town park with the children waiting for him to give their Christmas wishes; with the AMVETS costume characters accompanying him on the hayride courtesy of Brian Gourley, in memory of his father Bill. Community churches were decorated for celebrating the reason for the season along with the outpost living window. Wilcox Brothers was the hub of activity pr

oviding live music, Warren County Dairy Princess, the Miss Fits, Catering Plus, Paul’s Fantasies, and Catering Plus making fresh cookies. From there, you could stop at the Beer Bank for sign-ups and snacks with Schuler’s next door. Homemade cookies and snacks were provided throughout the town with crafts and books at the fire department, Sugar Grove Library, and Grant Lumber with holiday handouts. While remembering lost loved ones at this time of year, McKinney Funeral Home had you sign an ornament in the loved one’s memory to hang on their tree. The crowd came prepared in their Santa hats and Christmas lights hanging from their necks — even the Chubzilla race team showed up with their miniature race car and grandson. After enjoying a hot dog from the AMVET elves, you could view the beauty of the fireworks from just about anywhere.
