The Warren Area High School class of 1969 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Perkins.

Heroes support group to meet

The Heroes support group for parents with children with disabilities will meet on Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Jefferson Defrees Family Center in the Jefferson Room at 6 p.m. The meeting is kid friendly and will have activities for children. The speaker this month is Tammy Hawk, community advocate, and Forest-Warren Human Services Early Intervention Director. Hawk will speak on parents’ rights and the initial evaluation process. Encounter Youth Conference

Students in grades 6-12, and recent high school graduates are invited to attend the Encounter Youth Conference, August 10 and 11 at Praise Fellowship, 7451 Market Street, Russell. Encounter begins at 7 p.m. Friday with special speakers, worship sessions, small group times, food, games, and more. Students will stay overnight at the church. Friends and family of all ages are welcome to attend the closing community service from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on Saturday. Admission to Encounter is free.
