Christmas Open House and Trolley Tours on Friday

Victorian Christmas Open House and Trolley Tours on Friday at Warren County Historical Society.

You are invited to step back in time and experience a Christmas of yesteryear from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at the Warren County Historical Society’s Victorian Christmas Open House & Trolley Tours.

The beautiful architecture of the Struthers-Wetmore-Schimmelfeng House, now home to the Warren County Historical Society, is the perfect canvas for the decorations by the Warren Garden Club which highlight the high ceilings, woodwork, and trim with holiday sparkle and glamour. Numerous Christmas trees twinkle with lights and ornaments and are surrounded by additional holiday embellishments.

The sights of Christmas are complimented by holiday music performed by the Youngsville High School String Orchestra in the front parlor and with John Bowler strumming period Christmas songs on his authentic 19th century parlor guitar on the lavishly decorated second story of the mansion. Refreshments will be provided by Kinzua Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center and AseraCare Hospice.

Horse-drawn trolley tours will take the guests on a brisk, guided tour featuring “Warren’s Musical Past” where you can learn about the rich history of musical culture in Warren. Tours begin at 7:30 p.m.

Trolley tickets are $7 per person- first come, first served- and are available at the Warren County Historical Society, 210 Fourth Avenue, Warren, PA 16365.

Unique Christmas gifts are available for purchase throughout the season and at the open house. The Warren County Historical Society is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
