The Blessing Box is church’s new 24/7 outreach

Times Observer photo by Stacey Gross Pastor Kyle Pollen stands next to the newest church outreach, the Blessing Box.

The Warren Wesleyan Church has a new outreach.

The Blessing Box is not seasonal or conditional. It’s available 24/7 with no strings attached. The red box on the porch of the church, located at 602 Fourth Avenue in Warren, is filled with boxed and non-perishable foods, warm clothes, Bibles, and devotionals.

“The church is excited about this new opportunity to reach out to the community,” said Pastor Kyle Pollen, who is himself new to the congregation. “We know there are lots of other community resources out there,” said Pollen, “and we’re not trying to compete with them. This is just another opportunity for those in need,” he said.

Donations of food and clothing are from congregation members, Pollen said, but the church would be happy to accept donations from the community as well. Anyone interested in donating to the Blessing Box can contact the church at (814) 723-7056 or by looking them up on Facebook.
