Photo submitted to Times Observer The youth of North Warren Presbyterian Church will host their 10th Annual Sweetheart Spaghetti Supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the church, to raise money for their upcoming 30-hour famine on Feb. 24 and 25 to support World Vision. World Vision is the largest global distribution partner of the United Nations’ World Food Program. World Vision helps provide access to clean water, runs malnutrition centers, distributes emergency food supplies following a disaster, and helps farmers with improved farming techniques. For the spaghetti supper, spaghetti with meat or meatless sauce, salad, and bread will be served along with an ice cream sundae bar for dessert. There is no set cost, but a generous donation is welcome; 100 percent of the money raised will go to World Vision. Community members and families, couples and singles, are encouraged to attend this special dinner which, in turn, will help alleviate hunger in the United States and around the world. The Warren High School Class of 1944 will have lunch at the Eagle’s Club, Pennsylvania Ave. E., Warren, on Wednesday, February 15. The get together will start at 11:30 a.m. with lunch at noon. Spouses and significant others welcome.

Halls Of Ivy

Katharine T. Ressler, of Warren, a Physician Assistant major at Gannon University in Erie, has been recognized as a Dean’s List scholar in the Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences for the fall 2016 semester.

Bridge results

Tuesday afternoon at the Allegheny Community Center, Peggy Morgan came in first followed by JoAnn Hultquist. At the Woman’s Club Thursday afternoon, Nan Cashman and Connie Michell were first and second. Thursday evening at the library, Donna Holding placed first and Connie Michell was second.

A refresher course will be starting February 22 at the Woman’s Club and will run for eight weeks. The hours are 10AM-12PM and the cost is $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers. Please call 723-5910 to register. This course is not for beginners who have never taken lessons. Come brush up your bridge game and have some fun.

Ballroom dancing

Ballroom dancing is back. Join Ballroom pro Jessie Campbell and the Dance Express Company for two different beginner/advanced-beginner ballroom sessions on Saturday, Feb. 18, hosted at Linda Dies’ Dance Unlimited on Conewango Avenue.
