Photo submitted to Times Observer The Warren General Hospital Auxiliary will host a “Linen Sale” on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 8 and 9, in the Outpatient Lobby. This sale features several different styles of linens, pillows, towels and other domestic items. Cash, checks, credit cards, and payroll deduction are all accepted for payment. Class lunch

The Warren High School Class of 1953 will meet for lunch at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Perkins Restaurant.

Halls of Ivy

Allie Schutt, of Sugar Grove, has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester at Kent State University.

A total of 9,780 Kent State University full-time students were named to the Dean’s List for superior academic achievement during the 2016 Fall semester.

Of the full-time students named to the Dean’s List, 1,068 were also named to the President’s List, in recognition of an extremely high level of academic achievement.

To be named to the Dean’s List, full-time students must have achieved a grade point average of 3.40 or greater and must have completed 12 or more letter-graded credit hours.

Library events

Upcoming children’s happenings at Warren Public Library include:

Toddler Time, Mondays, 10:30 a.m., Warren Public Library Children’s Department. Geared for ages 1-4, but all are welcome. Theme-based stories, songs, craft and creative play. Preregistration not required. Dates: February 6, 13, 27; March 6, 13, 20, 27; April 3, 10, 17, 24.

LEGO’s and Lincoln Logs, children may create castles, towers, roads, homes, whatever they want. In addition to Lego’s and Lincoln Logs, other toys such as Magna-Tiles will be out for three hours for children’s enjoyment. Children must disassemble what they have assembled. Preregistration not required. Dates: first Wednesday of month, 3:30-6:30 p.m. on March 1, April 5, May 3; Saturdays (mixed dates), 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on March 11, April 8, May 6.

A Pigeon, A Knuffle Bunny and Some Pizza: February 18, Noon to 1:30 p.m., 3rd floor, Warren Public Library. Author Mo Willem’s Pigeon, Knuffle Bunny and Trixie characters will be brought to life via the reading of stories, a few short movies, and coloring pages. Audience will also enjoy pizza and a few door prizes. Preregistration appreciated. Registration form located next to staff computer in Children’s room, or leave a message at 723-4650. This PA Forward program is offered in honor of the Knuffle Bunny play at the Library Theatre the following weekend.

Polka Sunday

The Slovenian Polka Boosters will dance from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, at St. Marys Moose, with Polka Quads of Steelton, Pa., performing. There will be music for all types of dancing and the public is invited.
