History at the Outdoor Show
The Warren County Historical Society will be returning to the Darin Freeborough Memorial Outdoor Show at the Warren Mall this weekend. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 15, visitors will be able to check out displays of pieces from the Historical Society’s collection. The displays featured include “premier pieces from the Joseph DeFrees Antique Gun Collection,” according to Casey Ferry, Historical Society Event Coordinator, “as well as part of the Wilder Museum’s Civillian Conservation Corps exhibit on loan from Mike Schultz.
A special collection of dueling pistols will be on display as part of the DeFrees collection.
The CCC exhibit provides “a unique glimpse in to Warren County’s rich history,” and will include a showing of the film The Civillian Conservation Corps: A Peaceful Revolution. The DVD will be available for purchase at the Historical Society’s vendor location during the outdoor show, as will books, and playing cards, Ferry said. All proceeds from sales will beneift the Warren County Historical Society.
