The Allegheny Center for the Arts would like to announce the start up of the Warren County Wonders ACA/WCCBI 2018 calendar.

Last year there were more photographers enjoying getting out in Warren County and sending in great photos to be considered.

Anderson honored

Hillary Anderson, a 2010 honors graduate of Warren Area High School and currently a third-year law student at Syracuse University College of Law, has been honored with inclusion in the annual report of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) Section on Animal Law for her work as Lead Articles Editor for the Syracuse Law Review.

Anderson, the daughter of John and Kris Anderson of Scandia and Diana and Eric Paddock of Gordonsville, Va., will graduate from Syracuse in May with both a juris doctor and a masters degree in public administration.

The AALS notes that the Syracuse Law Review is devoting its upcoming volume to Animal Law.

“While there are outstanding journals that focus exclusively on animal law, having a Law School’s premiere Law Review devote an entire issue to animal law signals the expanding acceptance by law students and the academy that animal law is a serious and important topic for scholarship and study,” the AALS said in its announcement of publication.

“(Anderson has) brought together authors from the academy, private practice, and non-profit organizations, with articles spanning a wide variety of animal law topics… The issue is slated for publication in early February.” The Association added, “Congratulations to Editor-in-Chief Benjamin Cranston and Lead Articles Editor Hillary Anderson for their outstanding efforts in bringing this book to fruition.”

Following her graduation, Anderson will serve as law clerk for the Hon. Robert C. Chambers, chief judge of the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of West Virginia sitting in Huntington. Her plans after a one-year appointment in that position are to return to the Washington, D.C., law firm of Arnold and Porter as a second year associate.

Anderson earned her undergraduate degree from Ursinus College in Collegeville where she graduated magna cum laude in 2014.
