United Fund donation

Photo submitted to Times Observer

The students at Beaty-Warren Middle School were involved in a two-week long competition to raise money for the United Fund of Warren County. Over this two-week period, the students collected money of any amount during lunches. After the money was contributed, the student was permitted to put an ornament on the Helping Hands Christmas Tree. The tree and ornaments were created by the sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade exploratory students. The grade which donated the most money was allowed to choose which organization received the funds. The eighth grade ended up winning the competition and voted to donate the money to the New Hope Assistant Dogs. The New Hope Assistant Dogs received a check for $154 from the Beaty Exploratory classes.
