Photos submitted to Times Observer Children at the Warren Public Library ring bells along with Santa and Mrs. Claus as everyone sings Jingle Bells at a holiday program on December 3rd. Children listened to holiday stories, sang songs, iced Christmas tree cookies and made a variety of holiday crafts. All of the children went home with a bag full of books, candy canes and other holiday goodies.

Conservation District outage

The phone system serving the Warren County Conservation District, Penn Soil RC&D, and the Conewango Creek Watershed Association is temporarily out of service. Those who need to reach anyong in those offices may do so via email by visiting www.wcconservation.net to find the appropriate address. Staff members said they hope service will be reinstated by Monday, Dec. 12.

Bridge results

Results of Monday night duplicate bridge at YMCA were:

1st–Ellen Ruffolo and Jill Dart with 29.5;

2nd–Donna Hickey and Marge Polito with 28.5;

3rd–Laurie Curren and Betsy Senger with 26.

Christmas program

The Pittsfield Wesleyan Methodist Church on Route 27 is doing its Christmas Music Program at 6 p.m. Christmas Day, Dec. 25. There will be orchestra numbers, and trumpet duet, clarinet, flute, viola and piano specials. Also there will be a ladies trio singing, a men’s trio singing, and a mixed quartet singing. Everyone is welcome.

Community dinner

The Joyfull Cafe will be serving a community dinner at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at .Youngsville Free Methodist Church The menu consists of turkey and biscuits with mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable and dessert.

Photo submitted to Times Observer Chautauqua Shores Chorus began its Christmas season by singing for the residents of the Watson Home, North Warren. Religious hymns and contemporary songs depicting the true meaning of Christmas were followed by popular secular holiday songs. Harmony Gals & Noteworthy quartets also performed. The ladies sing four-part harmony, A-Capella, barbershop-style music. Women from any age group may attend practice sessions Monday nights, 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 358 E. Books for Babies+ is a program of Free Books for Kids Town that provides a brand new free book for every baby born at Warren General Hospital.
