Mr. and Mrs. Wilma and Gilbert Trask celebrate 70th anniversary

On June 25th, 1955 Wilma Jean Hodges of Lakewood, N.Y., and Gilbert “Pete” Trask of Youngsville, Pa., were married by the Rev. John Fetzer at the Methodist Church in Westfield, N.Y.

Maid of Honor for her sister was Polly Hodges, now Girts. Best man for his brother was Murray Trask. A reception was held following the ceremony at the Murray Hill Hotel in Westfield. Pete Trask, who had recently served in combat in Korea, shortly returned to complete his obligation to the U.S. Army. Upon his honorable discharge and return, the couple settled in Youngsville where they still reside today.

A celebration of the event was recently held at the Rouse Home in Youngsville.

Four of the couple’s six children were among those in attendance. They included Sandra Jones of Youngsville, Ron Trask of Sugar Grove, Ryan Trask of Edinburg and Shelia Ohmer of Erie. The Rev. Robert Trask of Erie was unable to attend and Ross Trask is deceased. With the recent birth of Shelia’s granddaughter, Vera Metalino (mother Faith Trask) of Erie, four generations were in attendance.
