An open-house will take place for Merle Dodd at the Columbus Community Center, Columbus, PA on Saturday, October 22 from Noon until three o’clock. His family would like to invite anyone knowing Merle so that they can help him celebrate his special day. No gifts please.

Merle was born on October 25, 1916 in Columbus to Frank and Cora Dodd. He earned his elementary and secondary education at Columbus schools. He partnered with his brother, Leslie Dodd, in owning and operating Dodd Farms until the late 1950s when he became a full-time real estate broker in Corry.

He served on the board of the Columbus Community Evangelical Church, as a member of the Kiwanis Club, and as a member of the Corry Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Dodd married Alberta Kimmy Dodd of Corry on October 18, 1937, in Clymer, New York. They were married three days short of 70 years. They have two children, Taree Dodd Schrubb, and Bruce Dodd; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
