The Family of Raymond and Vonnie Walter of Davis Street in Youngsville gathered the first weekend of November at the SkyTop Lodge in the Pocono Mountains to recognize their 65th wedding anniversary as well as Raymonds’s 85th Birthday.

Raymond Walter and the former Vonnie Schnell met in high school and were married on November 10, 1950, at the Saron Lutheran Church in Youngsville by Reverend Francine. The maid of honor was Lucille Schnell, sister-in-law of the bride. Best man was Herb Johnson, friend of the groom.

Vonnie and Ray have three daughters, Patty (Todd) Briggs of Erie, Cindy (Mark) Nyquist of Youngsville and Debbie (Randy) Gustafson of Bloomsburg, Pa. They have been blessed with 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Raymond worked 37 years at the National Forge and also with the Youngsville Television Corp. Vonnie was employed at Quality Markets and Youngsville Boro.
