Ike softball falls at UC

UNION CITY, Pa. – Union City scored 14 of its 15 runs in the first inning en route to a 15-0, 3-inning softball win over the Eisenhower Lady Knights on Tuesday.

“It wasn’t our best performance tonight,” said Eisenhower assistant coach Amber Fox.

Lexi Head started the game on the mound and was relieved by Alexis Courtney.

Head, Madison Mohney, Brittany Smith and Maddie Fetzeck had Eisenhower’s hits.

“We believe in them and we know they’ll continue to get better,” Fox said.

Union City also won the JV game.

Zoie Olson pitched for Eisenhower, while Kayla Greene had the lone hit for the Lady Knights.

“It’s nice to see them improving,” noted Fox. “They’re making contact at the plate and continue to be upbeat, regardless of the outcome.”

EHS returns to action today at Rocky Grove.
