Ent wins another championship
For the second year in a row, Warren County native Randy Ent is a state champion.
Competing at the Arizona State Lever Action Silhouette Championship in the suburban Phoenix area, Ent won the Lever Action title with a score of 74 out of 80.
In addition, Ent finished third overall in the 3-gun event out of 70 shooters.
The lever action is all open sight and all off-hand.
Ent’s aggregate score was 200 out of 240, and the two shooters who finished ahead of him overall have both been national champions in the past.
In the lever action (pistol cartridge) portion of the event, Ent was tied with one of those shooters and went to a shoot-off to determine the winner.
Each competitor got five targets and two minutes to get off five shots. Ent originally thought the two had tied again, but soon realized his competitor had missed his final target, which gave him the championship.
Needless to say, the 66-year old retiree continues to shoot at a very high level.
