Warren finishes third at LeBoeuf
Warren finished third in their season opening tournament Saturday at Fort LeBoeuf.
In the morning pool, Warren went 3-0 defeating Meadville 25-18, Fairview 25-16, and Seneca 25-9 to earn a position in the A pool for the afternoon.
There they split 1-1 with Cochranton 25-17, 24-25, beat host Fort LeBoeuf 25-20, 25-23, and split with Maplewood 23-25, 25-22. They earned the top seed and a bye heading to playoffs where they defeated Altoona in the quarterfinals 25-19 before losing in the semifinals to Corry 25-17, 23-25, 11-15. Cochranton went on to win the tournament, having defeated Maplewood in the other semifinal.

Katie Madigan 4 digs, 2 assists.
“We responded well to the tough competition all day, playing at a high level each and every game but were not quite able to get it done in the semifinals this time,” said Warren coach Mike Dolan.
“We think we learned a few things to work on going forward and we’ll continue to get better. The team is looking forward to our home opener on Tuesday at home against league opponent Harbor Creek. It has been three years since we’ve been back at WAHS and it will be our first game in the new gym.”
