Sheffield drops road match at Brockway

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Sheffield fell on the road to Brockway 3-1 on Thursday, 25-20, 19-25, 23-25, 19-25.

Leading Sheffield were Callen Copley (11 service points), Emily Leichtenberger (7 service points, 5 kills), Megan Johnson (17 assists), Lynzie Grubbs (5 kills, 1 block), Marissa Grubbs (6 service points, 14 digs) and Annabel Sheldon (5 service points, 16 digs).

“We were either tied or winning in each of the 3 sets we lost. You have to want it more than the other team and we aren’t showing that we do,” said Sheffield coach Melissa Lemay. “We have periods where we have intensity and some momentum, but then we start to make the same mistakes that have plagued us all year and give momentum to the other team. Missed serves continued to be an issue tonight, causing us to give up points to easily.”

The JV team did post a 2-0 win, 25-14, 25-22.

For Sheffield, Lily Lauffenberger had 8 service points, Halle McLaughlin 5 service points and Tori Childress 3 kills.
