Eisenhower goes four sets with Saegertown

Eisenhower just continues to get better.

After beating Youngsville on Thursday, the Lady Knights took the first game from a strong Saegertown team before bowing 3-1 (25-21, 20-25, 17-25, 13-25) in a match that showed just how far EHS has come since last year.

“I’m very pleased,” said Eisenhower coach Scott Olson. “We just need to be more consistent. We played very well in the first game, had it under control the whole way. In the second game it was 15-15 and a couple of things happened that just got us out of our groove a little bit.”

Leading Eisenhower were Cameran Edwards (10 kills, 11 digs, 3 aces), Kiara Weber (4 kills, 6 digs, 1 ace), Tess Morningstar (3 kills, 5 blocks, 2 digs, 1 ace), Currie Hultman (3 kills, 6 digs, 8 aces), Katrina Edwards (9 digs) and Caroline Hishman (21 assists, 6 digs).

“Overall, this team is making the right kind of mistakes,” Olson added. “It’s night and day from where they were a year ago. The last game we got down 2-11 and they kept fighting. That wouldn’t have happened last year. They want it and they are working hard. I can’t say enough about them.”

Saegertown won the JV match, 12-25, 14-25.

Paige Edwards had two aces.

The Lady Knights return to action on Thursday at Tidioute.
