Sidon ties for first in Region 6 opener for Dragons

ERIE, Pa. – The first official contest of the 2018 Warren County fall sports season teed off Thursday as Warren golfers traveled to the Beechwood Golf Course for a Region 6 mega match.

Joey Sidon tied for first individually with a 76 on the day, but the Dragons collectively shot a 377 to finish fifth. Erie Cathedral Prep took first with a 309, led by Luke Misko who tied with Sidon and McDowell’s Max Paris for the individual lead.

Jared Bupp was second on the team with a 92. Drew Swanson (97), Selvie Pearson (112) and Storm Sivak (120) rounded out the top 5.

McDowell finished second in the team standings with a 320. Meadville (328) was third, Fort LeBoeuf (338) took fourth with Warren fifth, General McLane (378) sixth and Erie (383), the match’s host, seventh.

The Dragons will be back on the links today when they travel to General McLane for a Region 6 mega match.
