Eisenhower swept by Titusville

Eisenhower’s 4x100 relay races to a victory during a meet against Titusville at Eisenhower High School, Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

Eisenhower’s track teams were unable to maintain the momentum built from a strong showing at the Mars Invitational as the Knights were swept by visiting Titusville Tuesday.

Kelly Glotz won three events, Jonah Samuelson swept the hurdles and Eisenhower took two of the three relays, but it wasn’t enough as the Rockets came away with an 84.5-65.5 win over the boys.

Glotz took top honors in the 100, 200 and javelin. Samuelson was also part of the 4×100 relay winner. Jared Martone won the triple jump and Joey Bauer was first in the high jump for the Knights.

TerryLee Talasky continued her dominance in the sprints, winning the 100, 200 and 400 by a combined 10 seconds. Delaney Nizzi swept the hurdles, the Knights won two of three relays, but the Rockets won the girls meet, 87.5-62.5.

Curry Hultman won the javelin, but Titusville’s strength in the field events propelled them to victory.

Eisenhower’s Joey Bauer clears the bar in the high jump

“The girls gave their best effort. I’m proud of them,” Eisenhower coach Darlene Beach said. “Titusville was very strong in the field events.”

The Knights will look to regain some momentum when they travel to the North East Invitational Saturday.
