UNION CITY – Youngsville broke open the game in the second quarter to take a 10 point lead at half time on its way to a 40-27 win at Union City Monday.

The Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Bears 15-7 in the frame to grab a lead they would never relinquish.

“The second quarter kid of determined the game,” Youngsville coach Andy Sveda said. “We started moving the ball and getting easy shots, easy buckets.”

Cait Craig led the Eagles with 16 points and four steals.

“She’s been consistent all year and that definitely helps,” Sveda said.

Emma Marino added 11 points and five steals, while Andrea Sveda had eight rebounds and two blocks to go along with her three points.

The Eagles will close out the regular season by hosting Tidioute Wednesday.
