Lady Eagles come up just short

COCHRANTON – An unfortunate turn off events shifted the tides for Youngsiville on Thursday, as the Lady Eagles saw a fourth quarter lead evaporate in a 56-46 loss to Region 3 foe Cochranton.

Leading 44-42 in the fourth quarter., the Lady Eagles were whistled for a technical foul on top of a shooting foul, giving the Lady Cardinals the lead with the made free throws. Youngsville was forced to foul and Cochranton hit its free throws down the stretch.

“It was a great game,” said Youngsville coach Andy Sveda. “The girls played fantastic.”

Caitlin Craig had another big game for Youngsville with 20 points, while Andrea Sveda added 12 and Emma Marino nine.

Jaidan Martinec and Kayla Freyermuth had 16 points each for Cochranton.

The Lady Eagles return to action on Monday at Union City.
