Warren's Rachel Wilson will compete in the PIAA golf championships today and Tuesday.

It’s time for the playoffs!

After a hard fought regular season, Warren, Eisenhower and Youngsville teams will now embark on the journey of trying to win a District 10 championship.

In Rachel Wilson’s case, she will be competing for a state championship at Heritage Hills Golf Course in York today and Tuesday.

Wilson, the second place finisher in the Western Regional, is part of the top girls 3A pairing, along with West champion Lauren Freyvogel of Pine-Richland, East champion Kendel Abrams of Susquehannock and East second place finisher Samantha Yao of Conestoga. They will tee off at 9:50 a.m.

On Saturday, runners from Warren, Eisenhower and Youngsville’s cross country teams will compete at the District 10 championships at Sharon’s Buhl Park.

Warren’s Naomi Hahn is coming off a top five finish in last year’s race and the Lady Dragons as a team were a state qualifier last year.

Some other names to watch out for include Eisenhower’s Tyler Burnell, Ethan Kellogg, Lily Fedorchuk and Sydney Welker, Youngsville’s Aaron Morris and Mik Fehlman, as well as Warren’s Kayla Giambrone, Bri Ristau, Leah Drake and Troy Shattuck.

The Dragons are also well represented in the soccer and volleyball playoffs. The boys will take on Cathedral Prep on Wednesday (time/site TBA), while the girls will play Meadville on Oct. 30 (site/time TBA) in the semifinals, with the winner to fact Villa in the title game. The volleyball team will play Oil City on Saturday (site/time TBA), with the winner to face the winner of Meadville and Villa in the semifinals.

The Eisenhower girls soccer team, meanwhile, had an incredible improvement from last season and the result is a quarterfinal date with Mercer on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Greenville High School.

The Youngsville volleyball team will also play on Saturday (site/time TBA) against Kennedy Catholic.
