Blair’s bats stay hot in win over Corry NWSB

Matt Leonard scattered seven hits over six innings and the offense stayed hot as Blair defeated Corry Northwest Savings Bank, 11-4, Wednesday.

Blair scored five runs in the first inning. Colby Johnson walked and Aidan Morrison was hit by a pitch. Mitch Grosch singled home Johnson and Leonard followed with a 2-RBI double. Chris White’s two out single scored Leonard. White stole second, then came home on a Brady Blair single.

Nate Betts doubled with one out in the second. Johnson singled and stole second before Morrison hit a sac fly to make it 6-0. Grosch picked up his second RBI with a single.

Corry picked up a pair of runs in the sixth, but Blair answered with a four-run seventh.

Grosch hit a one out double, then Leonard, White, Blair and Ryan Rafalski all drew walks before a Ryan Arnold single scored the final two Blair runs.

Corry scored another two in the bottom of the inning.

Grosch was 3-4 with one RBI and two runs scored while Blair went 2-3 with two RBI.

Corry travels to Youngsville Post 658 Monday while Blair takes on Post 135 at Legion Field in North Warren.

The Youngsville at Post 135 game scheduled for Wednesday was cancelled. No make-up date has been announced.
